Joining the game at a young age

How it started

As a teenager, I was very introverted and did not get a sense of social life, therefore I did not get to experience many young people's activities. Despite all that, young ME was a very bright child and always excited to do anything. My father decided to leave his work to start a business. Our family has given all support for his decision and everything that he does. In order to help his company that has been established in 2016 and is related to ERP systems and SaaS, I decided to provide some help with internal work and marketing ideas. That is when I joined the game. Because this company is a start-up, I have learned so many things about the internet and computer which fortunately gave me many opportunities for creativity and hardship along the way if you look at the bright sight. However, going to work was difficult because even if we are father and daughter, we have completely different mindsets and opinions.

*If you want to learn anything faster and get a huge amount of knowledge, go for a start-up company because there are many struggles and problems every day waiting for you to solve.*

What happened after I joined

It was doing well in the first year of running but, little by little, we started to lose customers, our product was not outshining and competitive. He is pretty good with coding but lacks business skills plus he did not receive well with suggestions and recommendations from my side. It was heartbreaking to see the business like this, but I could not do anything to help. After a year, we managed to hire a few IT students to be trained and worked at the company. At that time, our house has 3 stories so the highest floor was decorated as an office. Our mistake was spending money on unnecessary expenses that could not contribute to sales which are fancy office tables, chairs, a printer, external freelancers, and too high labor costs.

*Do not put your money and hard work toward anything that does not improve your product's quality or increase sales.*

Why I left

Another year has passed, nothing seem to be improved or gotten any better, therefore, I decided to leave the company and focus on my study instead. Luckily, I managed to do well in both high school and English school. I got a B and IELTS of 7.0, respectively. There were no pressures or difficulties in school since I had worked very hard from a young age and got used to it but, since I was busy with work, I did not get to have many friends or know many people at the time.

*Knowing when to quit is part of intelligence. If it is not necessary or it does not excite you, quitting is not a sign of weakness.*
